Applications:

Phthalic anhydride is mainly used for the manufacture of plasticizers (phthalates), and as an intermediate in the synthesis of unsaturated polyester resins and alkyd resins.

It is also used as an intermediate in the synthesis of insecticides, fungicides, benzoic acid, dyes (particularly phthaleins), products pharmaceuticals, perfumes.
